PSC Take a Stand For CUNY! Standing up (safely) against layoffs

Join the lineup from CUNY headquarters to Cuomo’s NYC office as we make our voices heard in midtown and on Zoom. For those attending in person, you can make your own sign or we will safely distribute two new PSC signs (“Save Lives. Save Jobs. Save CUNY.” and “No CUNY Cuts! No CUNY Layoffs!”).
We’ll be walking the line and live streaming portions of the event to the Zoom audience. We may ask you to answer on camera: What’s your college? What’s your need?
TIME CHANGE: 3:00 – 4:00 PM (Avoids a conflict with the 5:00 Defund NYPD Protest at City Hall). Register here.

Holding signs and bandanas, union members will form a human chain between CUNY’s headquarters at 42nd St. and 3rd Ave. and Cuomo’s office at 40th St. and 3rd Ave.

We will be physically distanced, but socially connected. You must wear a mask at all times. If you are part of a high-risk group, live with or take care of someone in a high-risk group, or for any reason can’t come in person. Please participate virtually instead.

We urge you to join in virtually or in person. We’ll have signs, but corrugated boxes and a sharpie work well for a homemade message! As always, please do not feel compelled to attend in person if you do not feel safe and comfortable doing so. Every appearance, whether physical or virtual, matters!
