From the Chairs – pay increase for adjuncts, and upcoming events

First, a small bit of good news, for part-time faculty only!  The 2% pay increase that has been deferred by CUNY generally has in fact been calculated into the paychecks of adjunct faculty, who consequently should see a (small) bump in their paychecks going forward.  (Check your paystub to confirm.) The PSC is arguing that this actual pay increase for part-timers should be allowed to stand, that the ‘clerical error’ should not be ‘corrected’.

Please note a couple of PSC events next week.  Remember that there’s a special zoom town hall meeting on the New Deal for CUNY on Tuesday evening, December 2nd beginning at 7 PM.  Find the details and zoom registration  on the PSC website.
And, next Thursday, during common hour, the John Jay PSC Chapter and the Africana Studies department  are co-sponsoring a panel discussion on Anti-racism.  The panel details are listed on the flyer below.  The panel will focus on anti-black racism.  We hope you’ll join us to hear — and participate in — the discussion.
